The Turragraph Term 3 Week 10 - 26 September 2025
Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the final Turragraph this term. It’s incredible how quickly Term 3 has passed. As we wrap up another dynamic and engaging term, we reflect on a wide range of enriching learning opportunities - excursions, incursions, assemblies, performances, community events and much more. The dedication and accomplishments of our students, educators, families and community partners continue to inspire pride and joy. After all the effort and milestones achieved, the next two weeks offer a perfect chance to unwind, recharge and prepare for an exciting final term of 2025. Please be sure to check the upcoming events listed below and in the calendar section so you stay informed and don’t miss out on anything!
Starting Term 4, students transition to wearing summer uniforms. We appreciate your support in ensuring all clothing and personal items are clearly labelled with both your child's name and class. If you require any uniform items, feel free to visit our Uniform Shop, which is open onsite each Friday from 2:30pm.
Please note that, as of December 2025, the school uniform shop will no longer be operated on-site by the TNPS P&C. We have partnered with an external provider, Midford, to manage all uniform sales from December onwards. TNPS uniform items will be unavailable for purchase both online and in-store from Monday, 17 November, until the new store opens in Turramurra for trading on Monday, 8 December 2025.
Wearing the correct school uniform is key to building a strong sense of identity and community spirit at TNPS. We ask that all students come dressed in the full uniform every day, including the TNPS hat, school jumper or jacket and school socks. Please also ensure that all school shoes, including any new pairs for Term 4, are entirely black.
To help keep our students safe, we kindly request that jewellery be kept minimal. Appropriate items include stud earrings, watches, and small religious or culturally significant pieces. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
As usual, at the start of Term 4, you will receive an updated Termly Newsletter tailored to your child’s learning stage. This newsletter will provide detailed information on classroom programs, school activities and important updates about Key Learning Areas, excursions, incursions and the exciting end-of-year celebrations ahead.
Be sure to mark your calendars:
Our teachers will continue their professional learning on the School Development Day, Monday 13 October.
All students will return to school for Term 4 on Tuesday 14 October, wearing their summer uniform.
Term 4 is a ten-week term, and the last day of the school year for all students and staff will be Friday 19 December.

Emergency Bushfire Planning Arrangements
We are preparing for the upcoming season to ensure the safety and readiness of our school community. Turramurra North Public School is located in a bushfire prone area and is listed as Category 3 on the NSW Department of Education’s bushfire risk register.
To ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students and staff, the department has determined that on days when the NSW Rural Fire Service declares a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating for our local government area (LGA), our school may be directed to temporarily cease operations for the following day. In addition, schools may be made non-operational due to changing higher-risk conditions and advice from emergency services and the State Emergency Operations Centre.
The Fire Danger Rating does not mean there will be a bushfire, but rather indicates weather conditions that could pose a high risk for a bushfire event. This measure is proactive to ensure staff, students, and the community remain safe.
All communications will be through our SZapp. It is essential all TNPS families have download the Schoolzine App and monitor advice and notifications from our school. We also recommend that you stay up to date with bushfire and grassfire activity by using the Hazards Near Me app (set a watch zone for our school area), and by monitoring local media. You can also review fire activity and alert levels on the RFS website.
We also recommend that all families follow the advice of the NSW Rural Fire Service and ensure that your family knows what to do if there is a fire. It can take as little as five minutes to make your plan Discuss it with your family so you know what you will do in the event of a fire. www.myfireplan.com.au

Best Wishes
On behalf of our students, staff and the entire TNPS community, I would like to extend our very best wishes to Miss Ellem as she prepares for her upcoming wedding. We are all so happy for her and wish her a joyous and memorable celebration! Thank you, Miss Ellem, for your hard work and the positive impact you have made in our school community.
We warmly welcome Miss Mikala Carter, who will be joining us to teach 4/5E in Term 4. We are excited to have Miss Carter as part of our school and look forward to a fantastic term ahead with her. We know she will bring great energy and enthusiasm to the classroom, and I encourage everyone to make her feel very welcome.
And finally, thank you for your ongoing support throughout this term. Wishing you a safe, happy and relaxing Spring holiday filled with quality family time and plenty of screen-free moments. I look forward to warmly welcoming all students and families back on Tuesday, 14 October. Enjoy the break!

Junior Band Performance & Band Program Update
Congratulations to our Junior Band on their beautiful performance at this morning’s Principal’s Award Assembly. This was the Junior Band’s very first time performing in front of the whole school, and they played with great confidence and musicality. A big thank you also goes to our wonderful Band Mentors, whose guidance and support helped the Junior Band shine on stage.
It was also lovely to see both the Junior Band and Performance Band students acknowledged by Ms Verhagen for their excellent achievements at the Australian School Band and Orchestra Festival (ASBOF). This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of all our young musicians.

Uniform Shop Changes

Dear Parents and Carers,
Important change to how school uniforms will be purchased from December 2025 onwards.
TNPS uniform items will be unavailable to purchase both online & in store from Monday 17 November, until the new store opens for trade on Monday 8 December 2025.
As of December 2025, the school uniform shop will no longer be run by the TNPS P&C on-site at school. We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with an external provider, Midford, to manage all uniform sales from December onwards.
The new provider will offer a full range of our approved school uniforms and accessories, with the added benefits of in-store shopping and fittings at the Midford Turramurra store. Online ordering will still be available through a web page set up for TNPS on the Midford website and online orders will be delivered to school and then distributed to the students classrooms free of charge in the normal manner. However, there will also be an additional option for items to be delivered directly to home by Star Track with a charge of $15. More details regarding the onsite store location, opening hours and the process for creating online orders will be circulated closer to the transfer date.
In the meantime, in order to reduce the current stock held in the Uniform Shop prior to the transfer to Midford, we will be offering a 10% discount on all items purchased from now until the transfer to Midford at the end of November, with a 20% discount being offered on all fleece jacket purchases. This is a great opportunity to stock up on any uniform items required for the remainder of this year at a discounted price, or even grab some larger sized items ready for next year!
We are working closely with Midford to ensure a smooth transition in December and appreciate your continued support over the next few months. If you have any questions regarding the changes, please feel free to contact the Uniform Shop or TNPS.
Thank you for your support.
